Culture Venture has been engaged by Mdina International to lead the training faculty for cultural management training as part of Arts Council Malta’s ESF Project ‘Create 2020 – Investing in cultural and creative capacity skills in Malta’s public sector’. The training programme provided seven specialised modules to selected employees from 10 different entities. As stand-alone modules the programme provided participants with the possibility of following individual modules, or else progress from one module to another to complete the series.
The overall objectives of the programme addressed the need for technical and specialised training for public administration employees within Public Cultural Organisations (PCOs) in order to maximise further the public policy deliverables of the public entities and to enhance the public sector’s contribution to the cultural and creative sectors. In addition, the training provided by experts in the field was designed to address the specificities of the cultural sector and the public role of the cultural entities participating in the programme, based on the outcome of the training needs analysis.
Mdina International and Culture Venture worked with national and international experts in the cultural and creative sectors to deliver the training programme, a first for the Maltese public service.
Modules were delivered by:
Dr. Jeanine Rizzo – Intellectual Property
Prof. Louis Naudi – Cultural Entrepreneurship
Yohann Floch – International Collaboration
Dr. David Stevenson – Funding & Sponsorship, Marketing for the arts
Toni Attard – Tutorials
