Culture Venture Contributes to Peer-Reviewed Research on AI’s Role in Cultural Participation

Our research has been featured in the newly published peer-reviewed article “AI and Audience Development: From Footfall to Forecasting Cultural Participation” in the Journal of Cultural Management and Cultural Policy (SAGE, 2025).

The study, authored by Valerie Visanich, Cesare Fiala, Toni Attard, and Maksym Malynovskyi, explores how artificial intelligence can support cultural institutions in understanding and growing their audiences. Drawing on the pioneering work at Spazju Kreattiv, Malta’s National Centre for Creativity, the research examines how AI-driven methodologies, including computer vision sensors and machine learning forecasting, can help cultural organisations transform insights into action, engaging both visitors and non-visitors alike.

At Culture Venture, we are honoured to have contributed to this innovative research that bridges technology, sociology, and cultural policy. The publication highlights how data-informed strategies can drive more inclusive, evidence-based audience development, a mission that lies at the heart of our work.
