Culture Venture will be the key expert for the provision of cultural strategy development and implementation to local councils and regional committees as part of Arts Council Malta’s ESF funded project ‘Create 2020 – Investing in cultural and creative capacity skills in Malta’s public sector’. This will the first time that regional cultural strategies will be designed for Local Councils in Malta and Gozo.
The public tender, awarded to Mdina International, brings together national and international experts to:
a) Formulate six regional cultural strategies together with the local councils and regional committees by:
i) Research and analyse existing cultural products / initiatives as well as current strategies/policies;
ii) Consult with the regional committees and the public to formulate the regional cultural strategies;
iii) mentor the local councils and regional committees throughout the strategy design process so that together with them the strategy is developed and formulated.
b) Provide training on the implementation of the developed regional cultural strategies to the local councils and regional committees.
The team of experts for the first phase of the project are Toni Attard, Morgan Parnis, Dr. Valerie Visanich, Dr Karsten Xuereb, Caldon Mercieca, Daniel Azzopardi and Sandro Debono. The team is collaborating with Dr Tom Fleming and Ispira.
