Culture Venture’s Research on Valletta at International Cultural Economics Conference

On June 25, Professor Valerie Visanich presented a paper at the 23rd Conference of the Association for Cultural Economics International (ACEI), hosted by Erasmus University Rotterdam. Titled “Social Impact and the Cultural and Economic Value of a Capital City: A Study of Valletta, Malta,” the paper, based on our research on Valletta, explores the complex interplay between economic and cultural values in the Maltese capital and examines how these dynamics shape the lived experiences of residents, workers, and visitors.

This timely study contributes to global conversations around sustainable urban development, tourism, cultural policy, and the evolving identity of capital cities. Prof. Visanich’s presentation placed Valletta at the forefront of discussions about the role of culture in urban environments and the social value embedded in heritage cities.
