Toni Attard, founder and director of Culture Venture will be one of the workshop facilitators for cultural mobility developers in Tunis organised by On the Move is collaboration with Culture Funding Watch. The other facilitators are Maria Daïf (independent consultant in cultural management, Morocco), Yohann Floch (On the Move), and Ouafa Belgacem (Culture Funding Watch). The workshop is focusing on the South Mediterranean countries, in connection with the Cultural Mobility Forum that will be held in Tunis on 9-10 May 2023.
Having a more fragile cultural infrastructure, and still today facing an unequal distribution of resources, these Mediterranean contexts have more limited access to regular professional development and mentoring programmes that embed a strong international dimension. Even when such capacity building schemes exist, research underlines that opportunities for cultural mobility funding opportunities, and information about them, are extremely limited.
The confirmed 10 participants, selected after an open call, are: Faraj Alsileeni (Libya), Mehdi Azdem (Morocco), Mouna Belgrini (Morocco), Houari Bouchenak (Algeria), Toufik Douib (Algeria), Marwa Helmy (Egypt), Paolo Lolicata (Sicily), Margerita Pulè (Malta), Emily Sarsam (Tunisia) and Kholoud Yaseen (Egypt).
