Culture Venture was commissioned by the Malta Biennale to conduct research on the its impact on artists, visitors, the institution and the general public.
The methodology for the 4 areas of investigation were as follows:
- Impact on artists
- Online survey with participants (artists, curators, commissioners) measuring satisfaction levels, perceptions and value of biennale on their work;
- Focus groups/ interviews with curatorial team and artists;
- Observations.
- Impact on visitors
- Visitors exit survey in three sites, Grandmaster’s Palace, National Museum of Archaeology and MUŻA;
- Visitor data;
- Observations
- Impact on organisation
- Focus group with Heritage Malta staff and management;
- Observations.
- Impact on the general public
- Omnibus population survey
The research was conducted between May and July 2024.
